Credentials You Can Earn
NGTC's Engineering Technology AAS program graduates are qualified for employment as engineering technicians with a specialization in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering technology. Graduates may also participate in an articulation agreement with Southern Polytechnic State University, allowing them to complete a mostly online bachelor’s degree.

Engineering Technology Degree with Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Specialization
The Engineering Technology degree program offers students the opportunity to complete the first two years of an engineering curriculum with the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG). Program graduates will receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Technology, qualifying them as engineering technicians with a specialization in mechanical engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, or industrial engineering technology. This program also qualifies the graduate to complete the last two years of an engineering technology degree at Southern Polytechnic State University. The program is approved by TCSG and SPSU. The Engineering Technology program is intended to provide the opportunity for residents of Georgia to explore a career in engineering at the professional level. Program graduates receive an Engineering Technology Associate of Applied Science Degree.

Individuals who graduate from NGTC’s Engineering program can hit the shop floor running if they choose to become:
- Engineering Technologist
Graduates of the Engineering Technology program may work in a variety of fields including:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
There are many employment fields that require skills similar to those required to be an engineering technologist, such as:
- Draftsman
- Machinist
- Electrician
